Zayan the Label AW15 ‘Let Me Dream My Love’.
Designer Zayan Ghandour’s 8th collection, Let Me Dream My Love, is a bejewelled ode to contemporary disco chic. Inspired by the song lyrics by Marianne Faithfull, the collection hints at the 70s era flower girl re-envisioned with a disco edge; a delicate reinterpretation of black and silver sequin dresses in modern silhouettes. Tailored, flared trousers with grey grosgrain trims, detailed separates and 2 tone faux-fur stoles with pearl clusters add an air of sophisticated chic, while the flirty embroidered white and black crepe dresses with illusion necklines, bell sleeves, sheer panels and and appliqued florals invoke visions of a contemporary folk-fairy.
This season, Zayan the Label also collaborated with celebrated Swedish fashion illustrator Liselotte Watkins whose signature illustrations are featured on jersey and lace sports-luxe sweaters and tees as well as knit wear, a leather jacket and several perspex clutches. Liselotte launched her career in New York about 15 years ago, where her unique, unmatchable style gained immediate attention. She has collaborated with Vogue, Anna Sui, H&M, Net a Porter and most notably Miu Miu, A visual storyteller by nature, Liselotte’s Zayan the Label girls, Lola, Jasmine and Mariane, perfectly embody the spirit of the 70s referenced AW15 collection.
